District Heating & Cooling Delta T Campaign

Brief

This project features an educational campaign on Delta T for IMI Climate Control, targeting operators of district heating and cooling networks. The campaign explains how excessively high return temperatures and low Delta T reduce system efficiency, increase operating costs and shorten equipment lifetime. Through a main visual, brochures, flyers and social media content, IMI showcases proven hydronic solutions that lower return temperatures and restore design Delta T across entire networks.

Challenge

District heating and cooling networks often suffer from high return temperatures and low Delta T, yet these issues are rarely addressed in a clear, system-wide way. IMI needed to raise awareness of the problem among utilities, designers and facility managers, and to demonstrate how improper balancing, sizing and control can undermine performance at network level.

Strategic and creative solution

We built the creative concept around a vivid cityscape where each building’s Delta T visibly impacts the whole network. The brochure and flyer content translate complex hydronic principles into accessible narratives: why return temperatures matter, what causes low Delta T, and which IMI technologies—such as TA‑Smart valves, pressure-independent control valves, dirt and air separators or pressurisation systems—help fix it. Modular layouts allow the same story to cover both district heating and district cooling, with clear diagrams and step-by-step measures.
